WHAT IS PILATES?
The Pilates method is a fitness regimen developed by Joseph Pilates in the early 1900’s. This system is famous for improving flexibility, posture, core muscular strength and balance. Perhaps what is not well known is that Pilates can be tailored to anyone – no matter what their level of fitness. Its efficacy has been shown to heal chronic back pain; correct misalignments in the musculoskeletal system; and rehabilitate those people recovering from injury. If done once to three times a week, Pilates can challenge the strongest athlete or rehabilitate the most atrophied beginner.
