ABOUT THE FOUNDER

Matthew2
In the late 1990’s, Matthew was certified in “Reformer Pilates” by the internationally recognized “Balanced Body Master Instructor” Troy McCarty. In addition, Matthew also trained under internationally recognized Master Instructor, Julian Littleford. Together, these two men would eventually emerge as two of the most prominent second- generation Pilates instructors in the world.
A few years later, in the early 2000’s, Matthew was also fortunate to log over 100 hours of teacher training in Iyengar Yoga under Ginny Nadler, whom he considers to be one of the most knowledgeable yoga instructors in the country.

And yet all this training couldn’t answer the questions that interested him the most.

When he began teaching, there was something mysterious Matthew was noticing in his clients that he couldn’t put his finger on. In 2003 he came up with the term “Body Anthropology” to describe this anomaly and yet, at the time, he didn’t fully understand what this term meant.

His inquiry into, “Body Anthropology”, eventually led Matthew into the study of the Nervous System. After years of experimentation, Matthew slowly developed the ability to identify neural signatures he believes are the source of the very skeletal misalignments that were so heavily emphasized in his formative training.

The end result of Matthew’s experimentation and research has finally given Body Anthropology a definition: A system of techniques – NOT directed toward the Musculoskeletal System – but directed toward the distortions in the Nervous System. When applied, these techniques invariably heal the misalignments of the body as well.

During this time, Matthew also began to develop a new product in the midst of his research. In his first year in business Matthew was approached by an elderly couple who wished to be trained in Pilates. However, once they learned how expensive it was to use the “Pilates Reformer” they realized they wouldn’t be able to afford the very training that could have been so beneficial to them. It was this event that triggered Matthew to develop and patent the products that would eventually lead to Revision Pilates: A product that can still produce the amazing benefits of the “Pilates Reformer” for the price of a yoga class.

Therefore, Revision Pilates is the result of questions that needed answers and problems that needed solutions. It is a new kind of studio that gives people the structure to discover themselves – and heal; strengthen, empower; tone; train; rehabilitate…

…and Re-vision everything.
